  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

However, if you don’t have cake flour, you can substitute it with all-purpose flour. For every cup of cake flour, use 1 cup of all-purpose flour minus 2 tablespoons.

When mixing the batter, it is important not to overmix it. Overmixing the batter can cause the cake to become tough. Mix the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and then add them to the wet ingredients. Mix the ingredients until they are just combined.
